On the final day of the five-day trip, the future science teachers left Murphy, NC and traveled back to the research experience site in Murfreesboro, TN. On the way, the future teachers learned about mining and environmental restoration in the Copper Basin (Ducktown Museum, Ducktown, TN), learned to measure the strike and dip of strata at Harrison Bay State Park in the Valley and Ridge of Tennessee, and examined minor faults and folds in the Cumberland Plateau near Dunlap, TN.
