National Association of Geoscience Teachers Membership Drive

November 16, 2015
Student membership: $25
K-12 Educator Membership: $45
Dear Earth Educator,

Fall marks the beginning of the NAGT membership drive.

By joining NAGT, you are supporting NAGT’s valuable professional development opportunities and award programs. This year NAGT sponsored the inaugural Earth Educators’ Rendezvous in Boulder, Colorado in July. More than 300 educators from across the country and a variety of institution types came together to capitalize on the experience of colleagues in a wide range of fields and to network with others engaged in improving undergraduate Earth education. Due to the generosity of members and donors such as yourself, we increased our Field Study Scholarship award for undergraduate geoscience students from $500 to $750 in 2015. NAGT celebrates dedicated K-12 educators with our annual Outstanding Earth Science Teacher Award. NAGT’s Stout Professional Development Grant awards $750 to K-12 and 2-year college educators to assist them in attending conferences and workshops, performing research, and buying classroom supplies. You can find out more about our educational resources, professional development workshops, and awards on our website.

When you join, you will receive access to NAGT’s two publications. The Journal of Geoscience Education (JGE) is the premier peer-reviewed publication for geoscience education research, curriculum, and instruction at the undergraduate and pre-college levels. In the Trenches (ITT) is a full color, 16-page publication, designed to provide a forum for geoscience education dialogue targeting educators in the classroom.
